Boundary Waters Canoe Area

I’ll be focusing first on a BWCA trip that is in the planning. I expect to join John Bunce, Patrick McCabe, and Pat’s partner Bill in the BWCA next May. My friends are relying on me to plan and organize the trip. I’m all over that opportunity!

My planning will be based on all that I know from previous trips to the BWCA:

  • Gneiss island on the Grant River Flowage
  • Big Crab and Little Crab
  • Truth on Vera
  • Og
  • Tully
  • Neglique
  • The Otter Camp off the Sawbill

You need to know about Alex Horner. And Stu Osfhoff. Stu’s Boundary Water Journal is a delight.

Caution: Exercise discretion about placing faith in the accuracy and truth underlying the names of every lake described in these postings. I’m kind of stingy about declaring GPS notation and map names for lakes that are special treasures to me. A foolish fisherman is one who defines the exact location of a good fishing hole.
